Ram announced its EV truck just six months ago with a planned market introduction date of 2024. This means that it would be entering the arena at a later stage than the current set of competitors but it appears that this is not something that fazes the company. Ram boss Mike Koval is insistent that the final product will be beyond what we see from the current set of EV trucks as it promises more range, power, and productivity.
It is already understood that the upcoming Ram EV will employ the group’s upcoming STLA Frame body-on-frame architecture, which will also be dedicated to additional planned trucks, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. Using this, we can expect it to offer a range of 500 miles on a single charge thanks to a battery with a proposed embedded energy figure of at least 159 kWh.
